There are some Cape Cod events that have a way of bringing everyone together, and the Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce Annual Father’s Day Car Show is definitely one of them.
Every Father’s Day weekend, Main Street Hyannis transforms into a celebration filled with classic cars, families, local food, shopping, and thousands of people enjoying downtown.
We started our morning at Chez Antoine Café, and even before stepping outside you could feel the excitement. The café was buzzing with locals and visitors grabbing coffee and breakfast while the cars beamed through the windows.
Outside, Main Street was packed with people of all ages taking everything in. The street closes to traffic for the event, allowing everyone to walk along both sidewalks and down the middle of the road, which honestly gives you one of the best views of all the cars lined up.
There were classic cars and custom builds, there was something catching your eye every few steps.
What we loved most was seeing how much joy this event brings families.
Dads walked with their kids pointing out different cars, sharing stories, and creating new core memories together. One moment that had us smiling was watching a dad carefully posing his newborn for pictures with the cars. A new little car lover in the making and such a sweet memory to capture.
Throughout the day, Main Street stayed full of energy. Local radio stations played music along the route, food trucks including Junior Betts BBQ, Mom and Pops Burgers, and others kept everyone fed, and downtown businesses welcomed crowds of shoppers.
We spotted plenty of visitors walking around with their Cape Cod gear and shopping bags, while restaurants filled up with people making a whole day out of the experience.
Naturally, we had to end our afternoon with some local food too. We stopped into Pizza Barbone and enjoyed their spicy pizza, the Fig & Pig pizza, a Bee’s Stinger cocktail, and a local beer. A pretty perfect ending to a day exploring Hyannis.
Between the cars, the families, the businesses, and the energy downtown, this was one of those days that shows how special our local community is.
A big congratulations to the Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce and everyone involved for creating such a fun, organized, and welcoming event. From the vendors to the public safety teams helping everything run smoothly, it was clear a lot of work went into making the day successful.
If you missed it this year, add it to your Cape Cod summer list for next Father’s Day.
We’ll definitely see you there.
